He was born on January 22, 1965 in Cleveland, Ohio.
Early friend of past GNR member Slash.The two grew up together in
the LA area. Steven first began by playing guitar, however Slash quickly surpassed him in
skills. So he took up drums.
Steven was fired from GNR in the summer of 1990 for "drug addiction". Steven is reported to be a heavy drug to user this day. Axl quotes to regret giving Steven 10% copyrights to the band, just to keep him from leaving. Since leaving GNR Steven has sued the band and received a significant settlement.
