Band

Guns ‘N’ Roses were formed in 1985, the original members were Axl Rose, Izzy Stradlin, Duff McKagen, Rob Gardner and Tracii Guns. Among some of the names they thought up were Aids and Heads Of Amazon. The Guns ‘N’ Roses name came out of a mixture of L.A. Guns and Hollywood Roses. In 1985 Slash and Steven Adler joined the band, then in March of 1986, GNR signed for Geffen. They came to notoriety with their first EP 'Live *?#@ Like a Suicide', a four tracker which included a cover of Aerosmiths ‘Mama Kin’, this was GNR live, ragged and uncensored, declared natural successors to Aerosmith, they were flattered by the comparison saying "Aerosmith was the definitive Rock Band!"
